Mortgage Checklist
First Preferred Mortgage Company works to make the mortgage process as simple as possible for you. It is helpful if you provide our lending specialists with a complete set of financial documents and information that can help them process your application.
When applying for a mortgage, you will need to submit the following:
- Your Social Security number.
- Paycheck stubs for the last 30 days.
- W-2 forms and personal tax returns for the past two years.
- Complete bank statements for the past month.
- Complete asset and investment account statement for the past month.
- Most recent retirement account statements.
- Information about any bankruptcies, judgments or liens against you.
- Documentation of divorce or child support payments.
- Your address(es) for the last 2 years.
- Landlord contact information.
If you currently own real estate, you will need
- Mortgage account information.
- Home insurance policy information.
- Home equity account information (if applicable).
If you are purchasing a planned-unit development, condominium or Co-op, you will need:
- Name of the development or project.
- Phone number of the homeowner's association.
Bylaws and recent financial statements for the homeowner's association.
